YAY! Let the count down begin! I cant believe we will be leaving for our trip to Czech in 26 days! I hope that time continues to fly by fast.
I received my passport finally last Monday however they misspelled my middle name. Figures it would mine. They spelled my middle name Venvessa instead of Venessa. John went today to the post office to overnight the form with the correct spelling that was pretty expensive it costs us $17.
We also did some after Christmas shopping to get a couple of clothes and good deals. John needed some long sleeve shirts and I got a night gown, gloves, and socks. We didn't get everything so we'll be doing more shopping later I guess. What we really need is snow boots and that was hard to find. The only store that we found some was Dicks sporting goods. They were timberland waterproof boots and the are around $80-$100. So we are still looking for boots maybe a little cheaper. Another factor in finding boots is that John wears a size 14 shoe and not many brands carry that size.
John checked the weather over in Czech and right now its 34 degrees and snow showers. Snow I cant wait to play in it! I ll make sure to take lots of pictures for ya ll!

God at work
Well this has been an exciting week. We are almost ready for our trip to Czech. John got his passport in the mail, mine of course did not come... maybe next week. I received my free medications and I ll be starting them in January. This is what I did to get all of our medications for free, Mag had us write a letter to the company explaining our situation and the long struggle of us trying to have a baby. We mailed it in to the company and prayed for them to grant us the medication we needed. My cycle is on and under control thank goodness. John got our buddy passes too and we have our assigned flights. John and I leave Atlanta on Saturday January 23rd . We have to make a stop in New York and then to Prague. From Prague we take a train ride to Brno, where the Reprofit infertility clinic is. We are staying in Brno for 2 weeks and the apartment we are staying in is so nice.
I am amazed to see all that God has done for us in one week. With out him all of this would not be possible.

Our Decision
After we had completed all our tests for the infertility clinic, we were waiting for January 24th to get started so we thought. But it changed on a Sunday in November some friends from our church Eddie and Sherry told us about another couple in our church that were also going through infertility issues and they went overseas to get treatment. The treatment worked for them because they were pregnant. Sherry emailed me the blog of the couple, she said it might be something we might want to look into doing.
We came home and started to read the couples blog it was exactly what we had been going through. We knew that this was God sending us signs to lead us down a different path then what we had planned. They had gone to an infertility clinic in Czech Republic and the cost was less then what the U.S was charging them. John went to the website for the Reprofit clinic in Czech Republic (http://www.myivfalternative.com/) and did some research. He emailed the coordinator to get some more information and she responded right away. They talked over the phone and set up a date that we could meet with her. It was a plus that she lived right here in Georgia.
After our meeting with Mag, we both knew this was right for us. She was so helpful and answered all of our questions.
A week later we met up the couple and had dinner. They shared their experience and gave us great advise. We were so grateful for all they had shared with us. Our meeting with them made us feel assured about our decision to go to Czech Republic. We told our families that we had changed our minds and we were going to go to Czech Republic to do our IVF treatment. We are so blessed to have such a supportive family.

The Begining
John and I have being trying to get pregnant on our own for five years. Every month was a disappointment and it left us heart broken. We never thought it would be so difficult for us to get pregnant and start our little family. We finally decided it was time to see a infertility specialist to help us diagnose the problem. They did an extensive work up on the both us, which included multiple test, procedures and blood work. After the work ups were complete it turns out that John was the factor in us not being able to conceive. He has a low sperm count and he would need surgery to help increase his count. His doctor told us that after the surgery his number would increase but we would still need to do In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). IVF costs a lot of money and is not covered by insurance.
It has been so hard on us, you start to separate from family and friends because know one understands what your going though. People always asked us "when are you having kids" or "when are you going to get pregnant." I would get so mad inside and wished they would stop asking me that. Thats why I would avoid family and friends. Everytime we saw a baby we would get sad and it bothered us cause that is our dream and what we want more then anything in the world. All this becomes overwhelming and it kinda makes you sink into depression.
And thats when John and I seeked God to help us get through it. We knew he would be with us through this journey. He has already blessed us with so much and still continues to do so. Its amazing to see how God has blessed us. We pray together and give it all to him. I know he has us going down this path for a reason. I hope that our story helps other people and thats why I decided to record our journey...
