kaylee is two months old

I cant believe my baby girl is two months already. She has been growing so fast and learning to do many things. Today at her 2 month check up Kaylee weighed 10lbs 2oz and 21 3/4 inches long and with this visit she also received her first set of shots. I of course cried along with her however she didn't cry for every long. I was so proud of her she did really good.

She no longer wears newborn diapers and has out grown her sleepers so she now wears 0-3 instead of newborn.

We also have lots of firsts this month here just a few:coo, smile, grabbed a toy, church service, and holiday. Its so amazing to watch her grow and discover new things in life. Lately we have been getting ready for Christmas by decorating the house and doing some shopping for our families. On Monday the 6th we took Kaylee to meet Santa at Lenox Square Mall and she didnt even cry. Her picture with Santa is sooo cute I ll make sure to post it so you can see. John and I also got her a laugh and learn little kitchen as one of her gifts. I have already wrapped it and its sitting under our tree.

Halloween

We all had a great time this Halloween weekend. It was our first outing since Kaylee was born and we decided to go to Fayetteville to visit grandparents. We packed are whole house it seemed since there is so much to bring that we ll need for the baby. It was also my birthday on Sunday but it just seemed like any other day because the best gift I could ever want was given to me on October 8th. Now that I have my baby girl everyday is special. Kaylee is so tiny that we just got her a My 1st Halloween onesie and a pumpkin hat for her to wear. She looks so cute cant wait for next year when she ll be able to dress up in her costume. This weekend was just spent with family and it was so nice to spend time with our parents.
Kaylee is now weighing 6lbs 11oz and growing so fast. She is finally out of her preemie diapers and into newborn size. She is also starting to fit better in her newborn clothes. John and I have just been enjoying our time off work and spending it with our baby girl. Our little family :0) I love you both so much!

35 weeks

Short doctor's visit but a great one. Everything is going really well with Kaylee and I. They have me going to the doctor every week now so our next visit will be Tues 9-28-10. I m sure it will be another quick visit since I don't have any problems.
On Saturday we had our baby shower and all of our friends and family were there. John and I had a great time and Kaylee got lots of gifts. We are truly blessed to have such great friends and family. We especially want to thank Kristie and Ms. Mary for giving us such wonderful baby shower.
Kaylee's room is ready for her and John has put together all of her big stuff like the swing, glider, and bouncy chair.
I have pictures of our shower I ll have to post them later.

33 weeks

So we went to our 33 wk check up and everything is going great with Kaylee and mommy. She is growing well and so is my belly :) Our next appointment is Sept 21 and Dr. schilling is going to check how she is positioned. Cant wait for our next visit!
Things that have gone on in the past 2 weeks...
I had my first shower on Aug 27th! My co workers planned it and I had so much fun. I received much needed things for Kaylee. Like her stroller, pack n play, and her spa tub just to name a few. John and I also took some maternity pictures to always have memories of my belly. We loved our photographer her name is Tate(her blog is http://www.tatecathcart.blogspot.com/) or (http://www.lasseterpics.com/). She made us feel so comfortable and she took lots of amazing shots of us. John and I had a fun time taking the our pictures. Above are just some of our pictures that Tate took.

29 week check up

I had my 29 week check up on Wednesday Aug. 11 and everything went great. They measured my belly and it measured right at 29 weeks. No problems and I m feeling pretty good! The doctor also felt my belly to see how Kaylee is positioned. Her little head is down and her feet are at the top of my belly. And what I ve been feeling at my rib cage is her kicking me. She is comfy on my left side. Also I m starting to go to the doctor every two weeks since i m in my third trimester and its getting closer to my due date. Our next appointment is Aug. 25th.
This week we also took the hospital tour at Henry Medical Center to see the maternity ward. On our tour we got lots of helpful information on the labor and delivery and how the process will go when I go into labor. Its such a nice hospital.
We also bought a new car this week. I had a ford mustang which had no room for a baby. So we got a ford fusion sport. Its so roomy and great on gas! We wanted to make sure we got car that had lots of room for a car seat and we wanted to get it before Kaylee is born.
John and I had a busy week but its making time go by fast. Next week will be the same we have lots to do!

25 week visit

We had another great visit on Monday July 12 we got to listen to kaylee's heartbeat this visit. It was a short visit since I have no real medical issues going on. We are so thankful!
On Wednesday July 14 I had real bad contractions around 5:50am, So we ended up going to Henry Medical to get checked out. Everyone was so nice there I got a room right away and the nurse hooked me up to a monitor to check for more contractions. We also got to hear her heartbeat the entire time. Dr. Schilling came to see me he said I need to rest and drink a gallon of water a day to keep hydrated.
Tomorrow I have my glucose test at 8am and I ve been told the stuff you drink does not taste very good. So we ll see how it goes.
John and I found a crib, her bedding, and a changing table for Kaylee. Her room is all painted and her crib is put together and John is working on putting her changing table together. I have pictures that i ll post. We are just shopping around for a dresser and once we find one her room will be complete furniture wise.

Thank heaven for little GIRLS!

ITS A GIRL! Her name is Kaylee Faith and she is due October 24,2010. She is healthy and growing well. We had a great visit it was so neat to see her on the monitor. We were able to see her moving and yawning. I loved seeing Johns face when we found out we were going to a baby girl. He had a great big smile on his face and of course I was crying.I was also thinking of two people my grandmother and my little brother wishing they were there.
After our appointment we went to target and started our registry. It was so weird because we had avoided this section for so long and now we were there shopping for our little miracle. John and I are so happy that words can not express how we are feeling right now. Next weekend we are going to Babies R US to register and get her a couple of things for her room. We did decided we are painting her room a pale mint green and her bedding will be baby elephants.
Oh I forgot to mention the night before our appointment I woke up with horrible abdominal cramps and our ultrasound showed it was actually braxton hicks contractions. It worried us at first but Dr. Schilling told us that its not uncommon for me to have them right now but they normally happen later on in pregnancy. I just have to monitor them and if the happen for frequent I have to go to the hospital to get medication to stop them. He said I have to stay off my feet and drink plenty of fluids.
Tomorrow is Father's Day so we are heading to Fayetteville to see spend time with our families. We get to show off our ultrasound pictures of Kaylee. Sorry it took so long to post this blog we had a bad storm on monday and it fried our modem so we were without the internet until yesterday afternoon. Our next appointment is July 12th it will be a check up and I think they will do the glucose test not sure. More to come later :0 )

20 wks

I m feeling great and we find out on Tuesday what we are having. It seems like these last couple of days are taking forever to get here. We are so ready to find out!!!
The baby has been moving and kicking alot this week. John was able to feel a kick for the first time which was amazing to him. He loves to feel for any baby kicks or movements. We also got to see my belly move and see when the baby kicks. We now spend our evenings just watching and feeling my belly.
This weekend I made one of the hardest trips in my life. I went with my parents to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to see my little brother before he deployed. It was hard to let him go but I know God is with him and he will protect him. We had a great time while we were at Camp Lejeune lots of memories that I will never forget. So today my little brother Lcpl Rodriguez, Jeffrey A. deployed to Afghanistan at 9am. Not a day will go by that I wont think about him. I will pray for him and all the troops everyday for a safe return home. The only communication we will have is just to write letters. We are also allowed to send packages that have batteries, gum, granola bars, and socks. I miss him so much already. My family is strong in faith and we support each other through this hard time. Our great news on Tuesday will bring everyones moral back up. God gave us this baby at the right time.

15 week check up

Well we had another great appointment. We got to hear our baby's heart beat and it amazes me every time! I cant believe I have a baby inside of me. The doctor said he wants me to gain more weight because I m a little behind on my weight. I also had some blood work done which is for mental illnesses, downs syndrome, and my iron levels. And my results came back today and everything was negative/normal. I m also still dealing with a low blood sugar and Dr. Schillings says that I m just very sensitive and I just have to eat more small meals. We are so greatful to God for giving us another great appointment. Our next visit will be June 15th and we ll be able to find out what sex our baby will be. We cant wait to find out!
We also have our names picked our for a boy we have Jayden Perry and for a girl Kaylee Faith.
Yesterday we went to target and bought our baby its first gift I took a picture and its posted at the top. We re ready do more shopping soon!

April

A lot has happened this month. Easter was great first we went to his parents church and then both of our families got to spend the day together, which was really nice. The food was very tasty. Only thing was we missed two people my grandmother and my little brother Jeffrey(he was at 29 palms in California for training).
Then my allergies were bothering me because of all the pollen and I also had laryngitis for almost 2 weeks. I m also having a low blood sugar problem which leaves me weak and tired. The doctor said I have to eat 6 small meals throughout the day and I have to carry candy with me at all time.
John and I also went down to Valdosta to visit my brother in-law for a weekend. It was nice to go down there and see them. It was four years since we last went down to visit them. We had a great time.
Finally this weekend my little brother came home from California and Im so excited to see him. We havent seen or talked to him in one month(they didnt allow him to call home). It was hard on all of us since we were used to calling or texting everyday. He ll get to see me my little belly :). His deployment date is June 9,2010 to Afghanistan, and I m not looking forward to that day. So we are heading to Fayetteville for a weekend of family time.

12 wks

YAY!!! Im 12 wks! I have been doing pretty good I didnt get morning sickness at all so I m pretty lucky according to lots of friends and family. But there is one thing that has bothered me and its my allergies. Its pollen season here in Georgia so my sinuses have been killing me. I just got my voice back two days ago because of all the sneezing and coughing caused me to get laryngitis. Which was not fun at all.
Now I m doing a lot better with my allergies I mostly try to stay inside. My next visit to Dr. Schilling is still May 4th and I ll be 15 weeks by then. We cant wait to see peanut again.
John took some pictures of me and my little belly at 12 wks. Its weird seeing myself with a belly since Ive never had one before. Its neat to see Gods work right before your eyes creating this little being inside me.

our 10 week check up

So I couldnt make it to my 12 week check up I had to come in sooner just for peace of mind. I just want to make sure our little peanut is doing good. I called last week to make this appointment since I cant wait for my April 15 appointment.
Today Dr. Schilling did an ultrasound and right away we saw peanut. It was just moving around and it even was waving to us. Almost like saying to us i m here and I m doing great dont worry mom and dad. We were so happy and excited. Dr. Schilling was also able to pick up peanuts heartbeat right away, which we thought was so cool to hear. He said to keep doing what I m doing stay off my feet and get plenty of rest. My next appointment is May 4th and I ll be 15 weeks. I should be able to make it until then, I hope.
I feel alot better now about how our baby is growing. Thank you God for giving us another great doctors appointment, I know you will continue to do so. All is possible with you.

blessed

So we went to see a different ob/gyn doctor today since our last visit with my other ob/gyn doctor did not go very well. If you ever feel like you doctor is not compassionate to you and does not have a good bedside manner then go with your gut and find another doctor that is. We went to see Dr. Schilling who was referred to us by our friend Rachel, he was great from the very start. He was into listening to us and our concerns and he knew alot about IVF patients. Dr. Schilling made us feel very comfortable and I knew right away we made the right choice.
We had another ultrasound done and we got to see our little baby right away. We could see and hear the heart beat, which was so amazing. Dr. Schilling put me at 7 weeks and my due date will be October 24.
We both cried and thanked God for such a great gift and for answering our prayers.
We have been through so much and now our dreams had come true. John and I were actually see it on the monitor. Our faith in God has truly blessed us.
My next ultrasound is April 12 and I'll be 12 weeks by then. Oh and I did get a picture of our little baby today, I ll be posting soon so you guys can see

levels

I went on Monday to have more blood work done and the results of my levels were 4,ooo. And I would have to go back on Wednesday to have it done again. So yesterday they called me and told me that my levels were at 9,700 and since i m so close to 10,000 I can go ahead and have my first ultrasound. The nurse told me that i m right were i need to be and that they had already scheduled my ultrasound for Monday, March 1 at 9am. I was in shock it seems like everything is moving so fast. It was such great news to hear but WOW March 1 is right around the corner. We cant wait John is so excited.
This great news came at a sad time for my family because on Tuesday Feb. 23 my grandmother passed away. My news put smiles on every ones faces and filled the room with happiness during such a hard time. I know my grandmother will always be with me and I know she is happy in heaven. Everyday will get a little easier for us and I cant wait to share to news of ultrasound to my family.

The Results

Well my ob/gyn called me this morning around 8:30 with the results of the blood work. I M PREGNANT! We have waited so long to hear those words and it finally came. What a great feeling.
She said my beta hcg level is 761 which means Im around 4 weeks. I also have to go have blood work done every 2 days to check my beta hcg level.
We are so excited that God has blessed us with a wonderful gift. Our dreams have finally come true its such an amazing feeling I cant even begin to describe.
As soon as I got off the phone I thanked God for giving us this gift because it was his will and our faith that made this possible. My second call was to John and then my parents.
Now I have to rest and take it easy and enjoy every moment.

waiting

So we have been back from our trip only to come home to bad news about my grandmother. She is not doing well so we stayed in fayetteville for a week. Thats why I havent blogged but I m back and I promise to keep you updated.
I went to my OB/GYN today to have blood work done its been 14 days since the embryo transfer, so I can finally find out if I m pregnant. We are so nervous and anxious to find out. They will call me tomorrow afternoon with the results. I wish we could find out today, that would be great! But we cant so more waiting! We are sooo ready to find out.
I feel fine and I dont really feel any different. I have been resting alot and I m not allowed to bend or pick anything up thats over 25 lbs. John has been helping me and cleaning the house, he is such a great husband.
We are so glad to be back home with our family and friends. We missed them.
This was a trip that John and I will never forget.

Embryo Transfer

our coordinator Barbora
us after the transfer

our embryos

Well today was the day. We went to the clinic at 12 and met with the Dr. She said we had 2 great embryos and 3 of them that looked ok. She said the others are not good to transfer or freeze, so we both were sad about that. But we tried to look up and thank the Lord that we had 2 great embryos to transfer. After that we went back to the waiting room while they got everything ready. We got called back to a different room and Jess layed down and i sat next to her. They came in and on the screen in the room they showed us the 2 embryos that would be going in. Well it was really neat to see the 2 babies that small. It was amazing. The procedure took about 5 mins. and then they made Jess lay there for about 10 to 15 min. and that was it. We went back home for Jess to rest the rest of the day. We packed and cleaned up last night so that is done. Now we are worried about this weather thing in New York, it is going to hit tonight and Saturday so that could cause cancellations and push us out of our flights. So we hope that does not happen. We go to Prague tomorrow by train around lunch time and hope that we get on the flights on Sunday.

Day 3

Our little embryos are growing so fast today we have 2 that have 8 cells, 2 with 6 cells, 2 with 5 cells, 2 with 4 cells, 1 with 3 cells, and 1 with 2 cells. Today was the last day we can check on them before the transfer because after day 3 the cells divide into too many cells that they cant count them all. The embryo transfer will be on Friday at 12 noon so thats 6am your time. :)
God has made this all possible for us he is hearing our prayers and we are so thankful for it. He knows our hearts desire and I m just in awe of that.

one view of Vienna from the top

We loved Vienna it is such a beautiful city. It was almost a two hour train ride to Vienna from Brno. The train ride was nice we saw lots of huge rabbits and deer playing in the snow. It also was a scenic ride. The first place we visited was the Schonbrunn Palace which used to be the home of Marie Antoinette before she married off to the French prince. We took a tour of the inside of the palace but they did not allow any picture taking of course. It was so neat to see all of the paintings and furniture they had with marble and gold. All of the rooms were decorated so elaborate with gold panelling. I loved it I was just amazed by the whole palace.
The second major stop was St. Stephan's Cathedral. We arrived just in time to hear a holy mass so that was cool even though we didnt really understand what was being said. We also took a ride to the top of the cathedral to see the view of Vienna and also to get a closer look of the steeple and bells.
We ate lunch at this really cool pizza bistro place and had Starbucks. We had to stop and get some just cause it reminded us of home. It was very cold in Vienna it also snowed while we there and it was very windy too. We walked around the city looking at all the shops and the architecture of the buildings. We left Vienna around 5pm to catch our train, but I didnt want to leave. John and I really enjoyed ourselves there we had a great time.
I ll post more of the pictures later since it only does at time.

Day 2

Day 2 of our little embryos they are all developing very well. We have 1 embryo that has 5 cells and that one is ahead of schedule. 6 embryos that have 4 cells and 1 has 3 cells and they are on schedule. And 2 eggs have just been fertilized. YAY :) What great news! We are so excited!
Tomorrow we ll call again between 1-2pm to see how they are doing.
We also went to Vienna today, it is a beautiful city. We left this morning at 7am and got back to Brno at 6pm. And we did a lot of walk so we're very tired so i ll post more about our trip to Vienna tomorrow along with pictures.
I guess we'll take it easy tomorrow and just stay around the apartment. There is a new older couple next door so we might go meet them. They are from Vermont. Good night! More tomorrow...

Day one

Our rib dinner

us waiting before the surgery

Today was the first day of our embryos we get to call everyday between 1 &2. We were so anxious and could hardly wait until 1. It seemed like 1 o'clock took for ever to get here. Great news though.... out of the 11 eggs 9 have been fertilized. What a huge blessing to have so many fertilized. God is hearing our prayers. We are so happy and yes I cried at the mall when john told me the news.
We also went to the train station to buy our tickets for Vienna. We leave tomorrow morning around 11. The plan is to spend the whole day in Vienna, and I cant wait.
For dinner we went back to Staroboro restaurant and had some ribs with buttered potatoes. Everything was delicious, but afterwards John told me that the ribs were goat ribs. I was shocked all I could picture was a little goat in my head. I kinda felt bad that it was so good. I told him I m glad you waited to tell me after we ate them.
I feel a lot better today, I just feel sore on my right side still. I really dont remember much of the surgery except for the pain. Everyone was so nice and the doctor came to check on me several times. I ll keep you guys posted on how the embryos are doing tomorrow and how our trip to vienna went.

Retrieval Day

Well it is John writing this one. Jess is in bed and sleeping alot from the meds, so sorry it will be a short one. She went back for the retrieval around 8:45 and was back by 9. She laid down and she started crying in pain from her right side, that is the side that had the most follicles. But i got her nurse and she gave her some pain meds. Within 10 min jess was kinda her self worrying about how everything went. But the Dr. came in and said out of 17 follicles they got 11 eggs, so that is great. She said to call tomorrow and see how they are doing and how many fertilized. So that is about it. Everything went amazing and we know it is all in God's hands from the start. We thank everyone for the support and prayers. We are just going to stay in and order in pizza per request of jess. Anyway she will post tomorrow some pics of the inside of the clinic.

our day

me walking down from the castle
johns giant snowball

at me

Yesterday we decided to visit another mall they have here its much bigger then the one we have been going to. Olympia had a movie theater so we saw It's Complicated with Alec Baldwin, Meryl Streep, and Steven Martin. I thought it was a good movie kinda long though. When you pay for your tickets they give you an assigned seat which we thought was weird. But the movie was in English with Czech subtitles it was so nice to her our language and it made us feel like we were back at home. On the way home we stopped at KFC for dinner I was shocked that they dont have chicken breasts here only chicken fingers so I was sad about that. The chicken breast is my favorite part of the chicken. My surgery is tomorrow morning at 8am I m feeling kind of nervous but somewhat excited. I have never had surgery so I dont know what its going to be like. But I know that God is with me and he will help calm my nerves and give me strength.
