levels

I went on Monday to have more blood work done and the results of my levels were 4,ooo. And I would have to go back on Wednesday to have it done again. So yesterday they called me and told me that my levels were at 9,700 and since i m so close to 10,000 I can go ahead and have my first ultrasound. The nurse told me that i m right were i need to be and that they had already scheduled my ultrasound for Monday, March 1 at 9am. I was in shock it seems like everything is moving so fast. It was such great news to hear but WOW March 1 is right around the corner. We cant wait John is so excited.
This great news came at a sad time for my family because on Tuesday Feb. 23 my grandmother passed away. My news put smiles on every ones faces and filled the room with happiness during such a hard time. I know my grandmother will always be with me and I know she is happy in heaven. Everyday will get a little easier for us and I cant wait to share to news of ultrasound to my family.

The Results

Well my ob/gyn called me this morning around 8:30 with the results of the blood work. I M PREGNANT! We have waited so long to hear those words and it finally came. What a great feeling.
She said my beta hcg level is 761 which means Im around 4 weeks. I also have to go have blood work done every 2 days to check my beta hcg level.
We are so excited that God has blessed us with a wonderful gift. Our dreams have finally come true its such an amazing feeling I cant even begin to describe.
As soon as I got off the phone I thanked God for giving us this gift because it was his will and our faith that made this possible. My second call was to John and then my parents.
Now I have to rest and take it easy and enjoy every moment.

waiting

So we have been back from our trip only to come home to bad news about my grandmother. She is not doing well so we stayed in fayetteville for a week. Thats why I havent blogged but I m back and I promise to keep you updated.
I went to my OB/GYN today to have blood work done its been 14 days since the embryo transfer, so I can finally find out if I m pregnant. We are so nervous and anxious to find out. They will call me tomorrow afternoon with the results. I wish we could find out today, that would be great! But we cant so more waiting! We are sooo ready to find out.
I feel fine and I dont really feel any different. I have been resting alot and I m not allowed to bend or pick anything up thats over 25 lbs. John has been helping me and cleaning the house, he is such a great husband.
We are so glad to be back home with our family and friends. We missed them.
This was a trip that John and I will never forget.

Embryo Transfer

our coordinator Barbora
us after the transfer

our embryos

Well today was the day. We went to the clinic at 12 and met with the Dr. She said we had 2 great embryos and 3 of them that looked ok. She said the others are not good to transfer or freeze, so we both were sad about that. But we tried to look up and thank the Lord that we had 2 great embryos to transfer. After that we went back to the waiting room while they got everything ready. We got called back to a different room and Jess layed down and i sat next to her. They came in and on the screen in the room they showed us the 2 embryos that would be going in. Well it was really neat to see the 2 babies that small. It was amazing. The procedure took about 5 mins. and then they made Jess lay there for about 10 to 15 min. and that was it. We went back home for Jess to rest the rest of the day. We packed and cleaned up last night so that is done. Now we are worried about this weather thing in New York, it is going to hit tonight and Saturday so that could cause cancellations and push us out of our flights. So we hope that does not happen. We go to Prague tomorrow by train around lunch time and hope that we get on the flights on Sunday.

Day 3

Our little embryos are growing so fast today we have 2 that have 8 cells, 2 with 6 cells, 2 with 5 cells, 2 with 4 cells, 1 with 3 cells, and 1 with 2 cells. Today was the last day we can check on them before the transfer because after day 3 the cells divide into too many cells that they cant count them all. The embryo transfer will be on Friday at 12 noon so thats 6am your time. :)
God has made this all possible for us he is hearing our prayers and we are so thankful for it. He knows our hearts desire and I m just in awe of that.

one view of Vienna from the top

We loved Vienna it is such a beautiful city. It was almost a two hour train ride to Vienna from Brno. The train ride was nice we saw lots of huge rabbits and deer playing in the snow. It also was a scenic ride. The first place we visited was the Schonbrunn Palace which used to be the home of Marie Antoinette before she married off to the French prince. We took a tour of the inside of the palace but they did not allow any picture taking of course. It was so neat to see all of the paintings and furniture they had with marble and gold. All of the rooms were decorated so elaborate with gold panelling. I loved it I was just amazed by the whole palace.
The second major stop was St. Stephan's Cathedral. We arrived just in time to hear a holy mass so that was cool even though we didnt really understand what was being said. We also took a ride to the top of the cathedral to see the view of Vienna and also to get a closer look of the steeple and bells.
We ate lunch at this really cool pizza bistro place and had Starbucks. We had to stop and get some just cause it reminded us of home. It was very cold in Vienna it also snowed while we there and it was very windy too. We walked around the city looking at all the shops and the architecture of the buildings. We left Vienna around 5pm to catch our train, but I didnt want to leave. John and I really enjoyed ourselves there we had a great time.
I ll post more of the pictures later since it only does at time.

Day 2

Day 2 of our little embryos they are all developing very well. We have 1 embryo that has 5 cells and that one is ahead of schedule. 6 embryos that have 4 cells and 1 has 3 cells and they are on schedule. And 2 eggs have just been fertilized. YAY :) What great news! We are so excited!
Tomorrow we ll call again between 1-2pm to see how they are doing.
We also went to Vienna today, it is a beautiful city. We left this morning at 7am and got back to Brno at 6pm. And we did a lot of walk so we're very tired so i ll post more about our trip to Vienna tomorrow along with pictures.
I guess we'll take it easy tomorrow and just stay around the apartment. There is a new older couple next door so we might go meet them. They are from Vermont. Good night! More tomorrow...

Day one

Our rib dinner

ultrasound rooms

part of the waiting room

us waiting before the surgery

Today was the first day of our embryos we get to call everyday between 1 &2. We were so anxious and could hardly wait until 1. It seemed like 1 o'clock took for ever to get here. Great news though.... out of the 11 eggs 9 have been fertilized. What a huge blessing to have so many fertilized. God is hearing our prayers. We are so happy and yes I cried at the mall when john told me the news.
We also went to the train station to buy our tickets for Vienna. We leave tomorrow morning around 11. The plan is to spend the whole day in Vienna, and I cant wait.
For dinner we went back to Staroboro restaurant and had some ribs with buttered potatoes. Everything was delicious, but afterwards John told me that the ribs were goat ribs. I was shocked all I could picture was a little goat in my head. I kinda felt bad that it was so good. I told him I m glad you waited to tell me after we ate them.
I feel a lot better today, I just feel sore on my right side still. I really dont remember much of the surgery except for the pain. Everyone was so nice and the doctor came to check on me several times. I ll keep you guys posted on how the embryos are doing tomorrow and how our trip to vienna went.
